 OPTICAL FIBERS | Singlemode
As the second largest supplier of optical fiber worldwide, Draka provides high performance fiber that fits your real world applications - with more than 20 million miles of fiber deployed in North America alone.

Commonly used for long-distance links, singlemode optical fiber networks support higher transmission rates, provide minimal signal attenuation and travel longer distances than multimode fiber before needing a repeater. This is why most networks more than 1 kilometer (3280 feet) use primarily singlemode fibers. Singlemode fibers from Draka have an extremely high transmission capacity in combination with low optical losses. These properties make our singlemode fiber ideal for optical systems operating at high transmission speeds over long distances. They are also the medium of choice for upgrading traditional copper telephone lines to the needs of the 21st century. Their flexibility makes these fiber cables easy to install - reducing cost, bend-induced losses, footprint size, and complexity.
